Open Lawn (Botanic Garden Tanawha)
The Open Lawn Area located within the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens is popular for weddings and events. The Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden is open daily and admissions are free.
The Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden is open daily from 7am to 5pm (Apr-Oct) and 7am to 6pm. (Nov-Mar), admissions are free.
The Open Lawn Gardens provides an excellent environment for hosting events. There are a range of picnic facilities available throughout, with plenty of shelters and natural shade. The Arts and Ecology Centre is a specialised arts and ecology interpretative facility and offers tours where you can learn about the plants within the gardens.
Domestic animals, such as dogs are not permitted in the gardens and there are no rubbish bins, so please be responsible when visiting and take your rubbish with you.
The Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden provides a number of tracks:
Creek walk: 1300 m rough bush track, slippery when wet.
Fern Glade Walk: 900 m concrete path, some steep inclines.
Lagoon walk: 900 m rough bush track, some steps, slippery when wet.
Mossy Log Walk: 110 m short 10 minute stroll, softfall track surface, flat, easy walk.
Upland Bushwalk: 2 km along natural bush tracks with creek crossings and some steep slopes.
Sculpture Garden Walk: 900 m stroll, mostly wheelchair/stroller accessible, well developed tracks.
Whipbird Walk: 700 m natural rough track, easy walking, 30 minutes.
