Construction will begin soon on improving a 250-metre gravel trail that connects Caralan Way Park to Palmerstone Crescent.
The existing trail will be upgraded with a permeable paving system. This will reinforce stability of the trail and alleviate water pooling and muddy sections. The improvements will also ensure an even and consistent surface for cyclists and pedestrians.

As part of these ongoing improvements, we are installing irrigation to the field areas of Cotton Tree Park.
The irrigation system will increase the resilience of the turf. It will help us maintain a vibrant and healthy grass cover for the community and events within the park year-round.
A smart irrigation system monitors the weather and adjusts water usage to optimise water delivery within the park.

Eudlo, Logwoods Road and Perrins Road - Gravel road upgrade

Sunshine Coast Council will soon start construction on upgrading sections of Logwoods Road and Perrins Road, Eudlo.

Upgrades along Perrins Road will extend approximately 500 metres south from the intersection of Logwoods Road to the existing sealed section. Works on Logwoods Road will extend pproximately 450 metres west from the intersection of Perrins Road to the existing sealed section.
Works will include sealing and culvert upgrades to improve dust suppression and safety for all road users.

Council will soon refurbish the Bevan Henzell bridge cantilever walkway.

Major upgrades are underway for Kawana Aquatic Centre and the facility remains fully operational during this time.
Stage 1 of the aquatic centre upgrade is complete, including a new 20-metre, five-lane indoor heated pool along with new structures, new plant and equipment and demolition of the existing indoor pool.
Construction of Stage 2 is now underway and is scheduled for completion in late 2025, weather permitting.
These works include a new entry building, a kiosk, public amenities and changerooms, and additional car parking.

We are extending the footpath on Petrie Avenue to connect pedestrians from Petrie Avenue to the Marcoola shops in Lorraine Avenue. We are also improving the carpark to provide more parking spaces in the area. As part of the project, two trees need to be removed, however we will plant four trees as offset. Please refer to the figure overleaf for location and details.

This update is to let residents know that due to extended lead times for stormwater infrastructure, the project has been rescheduled to start 20 November instead of 4 November 2024.
The works will restore the box culverts and pit structures to as new condition and allow for the stormwater network to function as intended.

We are pleased to let you know we have received Australian Government’s Blackspot Program funding to improve the safety of the intersection at Brisbane Road and Amarina Aveune, Mooloolaba.

This project is to upgrade the intersection signal phasing and installation of CCTV.
Works are expected to start Monday 20 May 2024 and be finished within one week, weather and site conditions permitting.
Works will be undertaken at night between 6pm to 3am, Monday to Friday.
Property access should not be affected during works. However, construction crews will contact residents prior to starting any works which may affect property access.
Thank you for your patience while we deliver these necessary works to improve safety and connection.

Mount Coolum, Boardwalk Estate - Totems renewal

Council is committed to the continual upgrade and improvement of infrastructure within our region.

Eleven totems within the Boardwalk Estate in Mount Coolum will soon be re-installed after being refurbished.
All totems will have new concrete piers, stainless steel stirrups and protective coatings, and one of the totems will have replacement timber.
The aluminium entry sign ‘The Boardwalk’ will also be renewed.

Mount Coolum Update, Lumeah Drive - New Pathway

The new footpath will span from the Mount Coolum Golf Club to Suncoast Beach Drive.

Works have been rescheduled to start in December as there are conflicts with the works Unitywater are undertaking in the area.
Once Unitywater finish their works the footpath construction will commence. Another project update will be issued once the specific date of commencement is scheduled.
