  • Fully fenced play space (including picnic facilities, kickabout area and public amenities)
  • Plenty of shade – with large shade sails, picnic shelters and mature trees.
  • Pathways and rubber softfall underneath play elements – allowing wheelchair and pram access.
  • Barbecues, picnic tables, seating and drinking fountain.
  • Parking and disabled parking.
  • Public amenities, including a ‘Changing Places Facility’ (see further information below).

Changing Places facility

The new changing places facility will ensure adequate space and equipment is available for people with high support needs who can’t use accessible toilets. People with high care needs can now feel more comfortable spending a day out at the local park, knowing a specially designed amenities block will make life a little easier.  We (council) are committed to improving access and inclusion for the benefit of all residents.

  • The toilet amenities are open to the public and unlocked between 4:30am to 5:30am and are locked between 8:00pm to 9:00pm.
  • A MLAK key (Master Locksmith Access Key) is required for Changing Places facilities. For general information about Changing Places facilities, visit the Changing Places website.  To find out how to apply for a MLAK key, visit the Master Locksmith website.

Communication boards

Plus this park is also home to communication boards. These education boards have been funded by First 5 Forever, a Queensland State Government universal family literacy program aimed at supporting strong language and literacy environments for young children from 0–5 years and their families. Check out Council's library website First Five communication boards for more information.

Story seat

The park is also home to the Vegie Garden Story Seat by Christine Sharp, an Australian author, artist, editor, photographer and book designer

Other

There is a popular dog off-leash area outside the fenced children’s play area. We’ve created a handy interactive map to help you identify the dog off-leash, on-leash and prohibited areas when you’re out and about across the Sunshine Coast local government region.

We’ve also included locations for dog water bowls so you can keep your pet hydrated.

Be a responsible pet owner: Please note that it’s your responsibility to have doggie bags with you at all times when taking your dog for a walk in public. Please don’t rely on the doggie bag dispensers as they are in high demand and may need restocking, so don’t get caught out.

For general information visit Council's 'Dog parks and off-leash areas' page.
