Flying foxes

This park is home to a flying fox (fruit bat) roost, a place where they gather to rest and raise their young. The location and population varies day to day. Flying foxes are protected animals vital to ecosystem function, so it's important to be mindful in these shared spaces - especially during breeding season and on hot days. There may be wildlife droppings on park amenities occasionally, however there are no extra health risks associated. For more information visit the Flying foxes page.

Council works to balance amenity, safety and sustainability while caring for the Sunshine Coast’s diverse network of parks and open green spaces. Seasonal conditions, smart irrigation, lower‑emission practices and community involvement all play an important part in keeping our parks healthy, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
