TLPI 01/2025 Accommodation Hotel Incentive Measures

Temporary Local Planning Instrument (TLPI)

On 4 April 2025, Temporary Local Planning Instrument No. 1 of 2025 - Accommodation Hotel Incentive Measures (cited as TLPI 01/2025) came into effect.

TLPI 01/2025 suspends or affects the operation of aspects of the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme 2014, relating to the development of a resort complex or short-term accommodation use (where for an accommodation hotel).  The TLPI provides a targeted set of planning provisions to encourage the development of new accommodation hotels and facilitate the redevelopment of existing premises for accommodation hotels that are of at least an upscale standard or 4.0-star rating, by providing additional building height allowances and a reduced on-site car parking rate for eligible accommodation hotels. The TLPI applies to land within the Maroochydore and Caloundra centre areas, included in the zones identified on the map in Schedule 1 of the TLPI.
