From 13 weeks of age all cats must be registered with Council and microchipped by law. This is the best way to ensure your cat is returned quickly if lost or found injured.

Cat owners are required by law to contain their cats to their property at all times. Cats that are allowed to roam are a danger to wildlife and at risk of getting lost or injured. For more details, see our Cats on the Coast booklet (PDF 853KB).
