Cycling is a great way for people of all ages to stay active. The following tips will help you get started and keep your bike well maintained.
Whatever your skill level you can make the most of the Sunshine Coast's many cycling routes. The more you practice, the better you'll get and the more comfortable you will feel in the saddle. Even a short ride to the shops can be enjoyable! If you are new to cycling or not a confident rider then we recommend you use our extensive off-road pathway network to get around. Remember, cycling is permitted on all off-road pathways unless sign posted otherwise. Cycling is not permitted on the Sunshine Motorway and sections of the Bruce Highway.
Bicycle safety and the rules
If you are riding on the road or the pathway, you must follow appropriate rules and guidelines to keep you and other safe.

Your bike shop can help you choose the best bike for the type of cycling you want to do and the correct bike size so you can handle your bike safely. It's important that you make sure your seat height is set correctly and you are comfortable in your riding position to maintain proper control.
