Horizon Festival is an annual 10 day festival exploring the intersections of art, people, and place on Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country, Sunshine Coast. Somewhere to connect, captivate, and challenge, Horizon is a place to wander and wonder through new art, music, performance and more.

First presented by Sunshine Coast Council in 2016, Horizon is a key action in the Sunshine Coast Creative Arts Plan and demonstrates Council's commitment to developing and supporting an environment in which the creative arts can flourish.

Returning from May 1–10, 2026, Horizon Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a program that reflects the region’s diversity, deepens community connection, and invites audiences to engage with contemporary art in unexpected and meaningful ways.

Horizon 2026 boasts 30+ programmed events across First Nations culture, visual and performing arts, live music, community engagement, and family activities, spanning the region’s hinterland, urban streets and coastline.

Horizon pays our deepest respects to the Traditional Owners, the first artists, storytellers, and dancers, whose enduring connection to Country continues on the lands and waters we now share.
