The Environment Levy delivers a range of outcomes each year to protect and improve our natural environment.

What we achieved in 2024–25

Buying land for nature - $1.4 million – Purchased 2 properties (119 hectares) for conservation

Maintaining conservation land - $1.7 million – Caring for the Environment Levy Conservation Estate

Managing pests and weeds - $1 million – Action, research, and community engagement to control invasive species

Protecting our coast - $1 million – Coastal protection works and dune rehabilitation

Supporting Community Groups - $635,000 – Partnered with 22 community environmental groups to support their activities

Caring for Wildlife - $300,000 – Education and conservation for marine turtles, koalas, macropods, shorebirds, and flying foxes

Helping Landholders - $323,000 – Landholder Environment Grants for on-ground projects

Protecting Waterways - $214,000 – Erosion and sediment control education and waterway protection in the construction industry

Involving Young People - $145,000 – Kids in Action program to engage with young people about caring for nature
