About: An indoor gallery exhibition of 40 high-quality local wildflower images by Greg Miller Photography, taken over 8 years as a volunteer at the Gardens

Allow extra  time to enjoy the gardens and bushwalks, and refreshments at the Compass Garden Cafe

About: Louise Saunders is a Brisbane-based botanical artist whose artwork features in the treasured book ‘Magic of Mary Cairncross’.

With a love of nature and a desire to paint those fleeting glimpses of Australia’s beautiful wildflowers, birds and animals, Louise will share her fascinating story as a fine artist and her work as a conservationist, together with a visual presentation of her detailed paintings.

About: Discover the joys of wildflowering in the beautiful wallum heathland at Kathleen McArthur Conservation Park. Learn more about the social and natural history of this Sunshine Coast gem as we wander and walk, seeing what is in bloom, and enjoy some quality time in nature. You will be provided with a map of likely species we will see and your guides will share stories, insights and information about the flowers, you can take photos and end the session with a cuppa. Hosted by Wild/flower Women & Wild/flower Lovers. 

Participants should be aged 14 or older or supervised by an accompanying adult.

Meet at the shelter near the entrance to the reserve. 

The walk is a Grade 2 level walk of approximately 1-2 km and is an unsealed sandy track, it includes some variations in surface and gradients.

About: Emu Mt has an amazing diversity of habitats from heathland to montane, with a wealth of wonderful flowers that change week by week at this time of year. So come look, learn and share the wildflowering joy as we wander and walk, seeing what is in bloom. You will be provided with a map with likely species we will see. Your guide will share stories, insights and information about the flowers and features of the area. Hosted by Wild/flower Women & Wild/flower Lovers.

Participants should be aged 14 or older, or supervised by an accompanying adult.

Bring: Hat, insect protection, sun screen, water.

The walk is Grade 3-4. The walk is approximately 2-3 km and is an unsealed sand and rocky track, it includes uneven surfaces, slopes and variations in surface. There are some steep and slippery sections of track with an ascent of approx. 70 m.

Date: 21/08/2024 at 9am to 12pm

About: We will walk beside sedgelands and wet heath before heading up to the high dunes, a fantastic spot that has brilliant heathland and views across the coast – a very special part of the coast. This walk does include we will be doing quite a bit of walking, including some uphill sections and soft sandy tracks. After our initial walk we will share a light morning tea up on the dunes. You will be provided with a map with likely species that may be in bloom. Hosted by Wild/flower Women & Wild/flower Lovers.

Participants should be aged 14 or older, or supervised by an accompanying adult.

The walk will be 4-5km long, some rocky sections on bottom track, soft sand later on, with an ascent up to 70m (approx.)

The colour, the close-ups – be amazed at this stunning explosion of nature at its best. Bring your camera and take some great images or just enjoy the scenic walk.

About: Explore what’s flowering along the boardwalk at Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary while walking through five different vegetation types - eucalypt forest, paperbarks, casuarinas, salt marsh and mangroves. 

Please bring a hat, long sleeved clothes, covered shoes, water and a snack. Insect repellent highly recommended. Wheelchair friendly.

About: Join Noosa and District Landcare for an amble through a section of wet heath and wallum woodland in Tewantin National Park. A wide variety of species flower here throughout the wildflower season.  Species list provided.

This area features woodland with Wallum Banksias, dry heath with Wedding Bush, and wet heath down on the plains. You will be provided with maps with likely species we will see. Your guides will share stories, insights and information about the flowers and plants of this special area. Hosted by Wild/flower Women & Wild/flower Lovers.

The walk is approx. 1.5 km with soft sand and a small slope

About: Join a local botanist and enjoy the wildflowers of both the wet and dry heath.

On sunset, listen for the rare ground parrot, and then observe insect/ flower interactions with UV torches. An evening not to be missed!
