Sunshine Coast sport and active recreation plan

The council endorsed 2016 edition of the Sunshine Coast Sport and Active Recreation Plan 2011-26 was reviewed and updated in 2024.

The Sunshine Coast sport and active recreation plan guides council’s provision of sport and active recreation facilities and services, for example sporting fields, courts and clubhouses. The plan will assist council in meeting the needs of its diverse communities until 2026.

Overview

It is important that council plans to meet current and future sport and recreation needs. Council must also ensure these resources are well managed and protected for future generations.

The plan focuses on activities that need formal venues and services, and where council has a role to play.
