Learn to make fabric flowers like those featured in 'Flower Shelter' by Fiona Harding (Spirit You)

For the past three years, Fiona has been creating Flower Shelter, an immersive installation made from more than 5,000 hand-sewn textile flowers, using reclaimed fabrics. The work explores interconnectedness, slow-making, and our relationship with the natural world.

This workshop shares the flower-making techniques Fiona used while creating Flower Shelter, giving participants the opportunity to create their own flowers using the same processes. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create three different textile flower designs.

You’ll leave with finished flowers, plus the skills and templates to make more at home.

Fiona Harding (Spirit You) is an interdisciplinary Australian artist based in Namba/Nambour.

Participants are only required to know a basic running stitch and be comfortable using a sharp needle and scissors.

All materials provided. $10 + donation appreciated for materials.
