Children’s art goes wild at Botanic Garden
This summer-long outdoor exhibition trail, aptly named the Wild HeART Walk, showcases the incredible talent of 21 young artists aged 5-18 years.
Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden is set to come alive with the vibrant and inspiring artworks of the 2024 Wild HeART Student Art Prize finalists.
This summer-long outdoor exhibition trail, aptly named the Wild HeART Walk, showcases the incredible talent of 21 young artists aged 5-18 years.
From birds to bats and turtles to orchids, the community is invited to come and marvel at the larger-than-life artworks and read about why the species were chosen by the young artists.
This initiative is a proud collaboration between Sunshine Coast Council and Libraries’ First 5 Forever program.
Wild HeART connects children’s love of nature with creative excellence, and in its third year is championing early literacy too.
Sunshine Coast Council Environment and Liveability Portfolio Councillor Tim Burns invited the community to celebrate the talent of young artists at the 2024 Wild HeART Walk.
"Congratulations to the 21 creative and passionate finalists, and to all the children who entered - from both within our region and neighbouring areas,” Cr Burns said.
“Each piece of art showcases your artistic skill and native species, and the incredible range of local places you visit and connect with.
"Thank you to all the young artists who entered the art prize. Your creativity and talent are truly inspiring.”
