Council provides various services to the public. The below information will assist new residents within our region.

Online services: MyCouncil

MyCouncil provides customers the ability to conduct business with council online.

You can register for MyCouncil access so you can quickly and easily perform tasks such as:

  • paying accounts
  • lodging and tracking service requests
  • viewing property information
  • updating personal details
  • updating animal details.

Not keen to register yet? No problem, you can use MyCouncil as a 'guest user' to make online payments.

Animal ownership

Council encourages responsible pet ownership. Animal registration provides safety and security for pets, their owners and the community.

You must register domestic pets (cats and dogs) with council within 14 days of residency. Council offers discounted registration fees to pensioners and owners of desexed animals.

Waste and recycling

Council provides a comprehensive waste collection, disposal, recycling and advisory service for residential, commercial and industrial customers. Find out more about council’s waste services.

Libraries

Sunshine Coast Libraries is committed to excellence in library service. They aim to be the community's choice for access to information, recreation and learning for life.

The library service includes eight branches and 2 mobile libraries. They are places where you can relax, meet, learn and borrow.

Membership to Sunshine Coast Libraries is free. There is an exciting range of materials and services available, including:

  • audio books
  • DVDs
  • e-books
  • toys
  • educational workshops
  • Justice of the Peace service.

Open space and recreation

The Sunshine Coast is the perfect place to live if you like being active outdoors. There is something to suit everyone.

The Sunshine Coast is well known for its stunning beaches, parks, walking trails, sports grounds and leisure facilities.

You can use the beaches and parks directory to search online for parks that have specific facilities such as BBQs, exercise equipment, disability access and toilets.

Events

An exciting and very broad range of events are held on the Sunshine Coast each year. The great weather makes for year-round availability of outdoor venues. Council prides itself on its ability to attract major events, which bring many tourists to the region. This contributes to the economy and the holiday feel of the Coast.

Council manages the Caloundra Regional Gallery. Professional curators and educators deliver exhibitions and public programs exploring the unique culture and character of the Sunshine Coast.
